- Joined his father at The Turner Agency, Inc. in 1989 after handling serious injury claims and workers’ compensation claims for Travelers Insurance.
- A 1986 graduate of Clemson University with a degree in financial management.
- Served twice on the board of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of South Carolina (IIABSC).
- Past chairman of the Young Independent Agents Committee.
- Was named the 2013 South Carolina Independent Agent of the Year by the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of South Carolina.
- Leadership Greenville, class of 33.
- Has served as a South Carolina State Senator for District 8 since 2012.
- Enjoys hunting, playing golf, and spending family time at Clemson games.
